In this year's Oscar buzz the name (and picture!) of actress Lupita Nyong’o has been plastered everywhere, but we're not even close to tiring of it.
This week, the 30-year-old 12 Years a Slave star graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly along with another Oscar hopeful, veteran actress Cate Blanchett. In Entertainment Weekly's article, Nyong’o discusses her newfound success and life experiences that have built who she is.
“In many ways, me being on the scene is doing for little girls everywhere what Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg did for me,” she says. “My world exploded by them being on screen. Hopefully I will inspire and be meaningful to other people. But I can’t take on other people’s dreams for me. I can only dream for myself.”
Keep dreaming and keep going, girl. We're all watching with pride.
